The adventure begins with your arrival in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia. We rendezvous at a prearranged hotel, with all travelers expected to arrive by 5:00 pm (local time). We enjoy a peaceful overnight stay before the real adventure begins in the morning.

  1. Day 1 The Georgian Tuscany: Wineries, Cheese and Picturesque Cities
    • After breakfast our journey begins with a trip to the lovely city of Sighnaghi.
    • Here we wander through its alleyways and along the wall that surrounds the city.
    • On the road again we ascend the mountain range, enjoying spectacular views overlooking the High Caucasus and the Alazani River.
    • Our descent takes us toward Georgian wineries, where we enjoy some wine and cheese.
    • We visit local families before dining in a hotel set against a scenic Tuscan-like Khaketi backdrop.
    • We stay overnight in Telavi.
  2. Day 2 Gazing Upon the High Eastern Caucasus
    • In the morning we travel to the valley of the Alazani River and drive toward the High Caucasus.
    • We soon leave the standard road behind, switching to a dirt road with breathtaking vistas.
    • We ascend north to the wildest region in Caucasus – Tusheti.
    • Our climb takes us up a scenic road before we reach the 3,000 meter Avano pass.
    • Our descent takes us past Tushetian villages which are built on wooden stilts.
    • We enter an amazing area which is home to tower villages and the toughest Caucasusians.
    • We reach Omalo – a Caucasusian tower village where we will stay overnight.
    • We enjoy dinner in the village with the locals, who cook delicious food for us.
  3. Day 3 Exploring the End of the World
    • In the morning we descend to Daratelo– an amazing tower village along the river.
    • After a visit in the village, we return to the villages of Dikalo and Shnako.
    • We meet Caucasusian people and learn about their lifestyle.
    • We visit one or two homes, witnessing their toughness first hand.
    • Incredible views can be seen in every corner.
    • Toward the afternoon, we return towards the Alazani River.
    • Early evening sees us reach the city of Telavi where we get settled in a hotel.
    • We go out for dinner within a beech tree forest.
  4. Day 4 Telavi – Guduari: Mountain Passes, Lakes and Canyons
    • We leave Telavi going west toward the city of Tianeti.
    • On the way we pass through villages in which the dwellers still support Stalin and his ideals more than 60 years after his death.
    • We cross a forested mountain pass and ease our way down to Zhinvali Lake.
    • We eat lunch by the lake before ascending toward Dariali pass.
    • Our journey allows us to visit the famous and controversial harmony porch.
    • From the porch we overlook the border separating Georgia and Russia.
    • We take a stroll along the Aragvi River channel’s magnificent canyon.
    • We descend to our hotel which is located in the village of Guduari, which serves as a base point for many ski vacationers.
    • We eat dinner at the hotel.
  5. Day 5 The Dariali Pass and Stepantsminda
    • In the morning we cross the mountain pass on our way to Kazbegi Mountain.
    • We visit the beautiful, distinctive orange springs.
    • Our journey takes us to the town of Kazbegi , from which we climb to the Holy Trinity Church.
    • We pray that we don’t run into any fog before overlooking the peak of the Kazbegi Mountain.
    • We eat lunch in a local home from which we take in a truly breathtaking view.
    • We continue towards the Georgia-Russia border and walk to the waterfalls.
    • Time permitting; we enter the unique Truso valley.
    • We return to our hotel in Guduari for dinner and an overnight stay.
  6. Day 6 Guduari – Tbilisi: Heading Back to the Capital
    • We descend the mountains toward Tbilisi.
    • Along the way we take in the Jvari Church, which offers a beautiful vista over the Mt’k’vari and Aragvi Rivers.
    • During our visit to the church, we learn about Mtskheta, Georgia’s first capital.
    • Upon arrival in Tbilisi, we return our vehicles and check-in at a hotel.
    • We take the time to go out and get to know the beautiful city, and its impressive center.
    • We visit Rustaveli Avenue, the Parliament, and the Opera and Ballet Theatre.
    • We pass through Independence Square to the ‘young’ and glamorous Shardeni Sqaure.
    • We enjoy dinner in one of the city’s restaurants.
  7. Day 7 The Journey Comes to a Conclusion
    • We ascend Sololaki Hill in the city which offers stunning views of Tbilisi and is also home to the Kartlis Deda monument, also known as ‘Mother Georgia’.
    • Our walking tour takes in the Narikala fortress that rises above the city.
    • We visit the synagogue, Hamam (Turkish bath) and the banks of the Mt’k’vari River.
    • We conclude the trip with a delicious dinner at one of Tbilisi’s best restaurants.
    • Travelers make their way to the airport for their trip home.
